The effects of novel electrical teat dipping on some mastitis parameters in dairy herds

Ali RIŞVANLI

Article | 2023 | Archives Animal Breeding66 ( 1 )

Electrical teat dipping (ETD) is a novel, patented method developed by the authors to control mastitis in dairy cows. Here we evaluate the efficacy of ETD in reducing the incidence of clinical mastitis and bulk tank milk somatic cell count (BTMSCC) on three dairy farms over 6 months. ETD was applied for morning and evening milking on three farms, while conventional teat dipping (CTD) was applied on the other three farms. The number of animals and quarters with clinical mastitis and monthly BTMSCC measurements were recorded. We found that the incidence of clinical mastitis was lower on farms using ETD than those using CTD. However, t . . .he BTMSCC did not significantly change throughout the study. Based on these findings, we conclude that ETD effectively reduces mastitis rates on dairy farms More less

Ulaş ACARÖZ

Article | 2023 | Biomedicines11 ( 8 )

The objective of the present study is to identify the biochemical compounds extracted from OFI flowers using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry and to evaluate their in vitro antioxidant activities and anticoccidial effects on the destruction of Eimeria oocysts isolated from naturally infected chickens. A domestic microwave was used with a refrigerant to condense the vapors generated during the extraction. The flavonoid and phenolic compound contents of the OFI flowers were determined according to standard methods. DPPH radical and H2O2 scavenging capaciti . . .es were used to assess the antioxidant activity. Regarding the anticoccidial activity, the Eimeria spp. oocysts used were isolated from the fresh feces of infected broilers and were determined in triplicate by incubation at an ambient temperature for 24 h. The results highlighted the considerable influence of the optimized acetone concentration, ratio, irradiation time, and microwave power parameters on the phenolic content and antioxidant activities. Our results revealed significant matches between the predicted and experimental values of the models. Molecular analysis revealed the presence of several biophenol classes such as quercetin, isorhamnetin 3-O-rutinoside, and quercetin-3-O-rutinoside. OFI flower extracts inhibited sporulation and damaged the morphology of Eimeria oocysts compared with normal sporulated Eimeria oocysts containing sporocysts. In conclusion, the optimized conditions were validated and found to fit very well with the experimental values. These findings suggest that the flowers of OFI should be considered sources of antioxidants. The results of the present study revealed that OFI flower extracts have anticoccidial activities against Eimeria-spp.-induced infection in broiler chickens. Akmatali ALİMBEKOV

Article | 2023 | Mendel29 ( 2 )

Today, technology is changing quickly and apparently affects all parts of life. Compared to a few years ago, many things have changed, including thoughts, habits, social activities, and ways of life. Thus, this study determined the impact of virtual reality technologies as practice-oriented learning stimuli on the development of information competence and academic performance of future primary school teachers. One hundred eighteen students from the Pedagogy Faculty of the M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan University and 105 students from the Kyrgyz National University majoring in the same field were divided into two groups for the researc . . .h. Respondents in the experimental group took virtual reality courses, and their progress was evaluated by contrasting their grades before and after the programme. Based on the preliminary analysis of the student’s academic performance, it should be noted that most of them performed mediocrely. However, observations by tutors and teachers revealed that when classes were taught using virtual reality platforms such as EyeJack and CoSpaces Edu, students in the experimental group were more willing to participate in tasks and seminars. Furthermore, according to the results of Content Module 2, students in the experimental group performed significantly better than students in the control group in terms of their overall academic performance (p 4.187). The article’s practical significance comes from considering how virtual reality technologies might enhance Kazakhstan’s and Kyrgyzstan’s educational systems. Review on Propolis Applications in Food Preservation and Active Packaging

Ulaş ACARÖZ | Damla ARSLAN ACARÖZ

Review | 2023 | Plants12 ( 8 )

Propolis is a natural hive product collected by honeybees from different plants and trees. The collected resins are then mixed with bee wax and secretions. Propolis has a long history of use in traditional and alternative medicine. Propolis possesses recognized antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Both properties are characteristics of food preservatives. Moreover, most propolis components, in particular flavonoids and phenolic acids, are natural constituents of food. Several studies suggest that propolis could find use as a natural food preservative. This review is focused on the potential application of propolis in the antimi . . .crobial and antioxidant preservation of food and its possible application as new, safe, natural, and multifunctional material in food packaging. In addition, the possible influence of propolis and its used extracts on the sensory properties of food is also discussed. Article | 2023 | Advances in Mathematical Physics2023

In this article, we investigate a nonlinear Petrovsky equation with variable exponent and damping terms. First, we establish the local existence using the Faedo-Galerkin approximation method under the conditions of positive initial energy and appropriate constraints on the variable exponents p & sdot; and q & sdot;. Finally, we prove a finite-time blow-up result for negative initial energy. Keyword: global existence; wave-equation

Nazgül İMANBERDİYEVA

Chapter of Books | 2018 | Vegetation of Central Asia and Environs ( Chapter 13 )

This investigation enlightens the original data on the ecological situation of Makmal Valley and neighboring villages Makmal and Chetbulak Toguz-Toro in “Makmalzoloto” gold mining area in Kyrgyzstan. The study was undertaken to put forward the possibilities for preservation of rich biodiversity and ecological state in these villages. The area is under pressure from the activities of gold extraction. Even today environmental pollution and high levels of radiation are observed. The extraction activity has seriously damaged and produced a negative impact on pastures, livestock, as well as biodiversity in this region. The dosimetric stu . . .dies have revealed that in the village Chetbulak, radiation levels lie around 38–40 mcR/h. Since the first extraction from the plant, the tailing pond is lying in the open with no protection or warning signs. The cattle grazes in the area openly all year-round; children lead the cattle herds and play freely around the tailing pond More less

Regional peculiarities of specific immunity in inhabitants of different mountain heights of the Kyrgyz Republic

Kaliman KASIMALİYEVA

Article | 2023 | Medicine Science12 ( 2 )

Kyrgyzstan’s challenging natural conditions and fragile mountain ecosystems can weaken the immune system of individuals residing permanently in high-altitude areas. Our study aimed to explore specific immune protection indicators in healthy populations from the Chui and Naryn regions at varying mountain altitudes. We assessed percentages of CD3 (T-lymphocytes), CD20 (B-lymphocytes), CD4 (T-helper lymphocytes), CD8 (cytotoxic T-lymphocytes), IRI (immunoregulatory index), CIC (circulating immune complexes), and quantified immunoglobulins of classes A, M, and G. Using immunofluorescent methods and monoclonal antibodies; we determined t . . .he percentages of CD3, CD20, CD4, and CD8. Radial immunodiffusion was used to quantify immunoglobulins of classes A, M, and G, while Falk’s method helped study CIC levels in blood sera. The participant count was based on statistical expert recommendations and G power analysis. The analysis revealed a decrease in the total number of T-lymphocytes (CD3), primarily due to reduced T-helper and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte subpopulations. However, a significant increase in cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CD8) was observed among high-altitude residents. Mountain residents exhibited wide-ranging individual fluctuations for each immunoglobulin class. Our findings suggest varying degrees of immune mechanism disruptions, which maintain natural protection and internal environment constancy at different altitudes, resulting in a mixed type of cellular and humoral immunity suppression. These results emphasize the need for further research in the region and consideration of altitude when implementing disease prevention strategies related to the immune system for the local population. WRESTLING IN TURKIC PEOPLES FROM A SOCIO-CULTURAL PERSPECTIVE

Mehmet TÜRKMEN | Cengiz BUYAR

Article | 2019 | European Journal of Physical Education and Sport Science5 ( 12 )

This monograph will address the following questions: “What was the perspective of Turkic peoples on wrestling branch of sports and what was the cultural aspect of wrestling for social structures and lifestyles of Turkic peoples? What type of a transformation did wrestle experience? What is its current state at national level?” Problem: The problem of this research pertains to the fact that the richness of traditional wrestling which is known to possess a deep-seated reputation in Turkish history of sports and occupy an affluent position in Turkish sports tradition is not well-reflected in the literature at national and international . . . levels, its traditional cultural elements are lost along with globalization and it is likely to end up being almost erased from national memories. Objective: This modest study sought to find an answer to the question as to how Turkic peoples perceived traditional wrestling in religious, national, political, military, economic and social domains of life and aimed to incorporate the finding into the literature rightly. Methodology: From among qualitative research methods, descriptive and comparative research techniques were implemented in this study. Result: It was deduced that wrestling which was one of the primary activities in socio-cultural structures and lifestyles of ancient Turkic peoples was viewed as a social value and even as a social norm beyond being just a branch of sports, possessed embedded and rich rituals, but began to lose its meaning along with the disappearance of most of these rituals, and even if it was affected adversely by globalization, there still existed affection towards wrestling and the wrestler. Kişimcan EŞENKULOVA

Chapter of Books | 2023 | Muslims of Post-Communist Eurasia

Since the end of communism, Kyrgyzstan, like other Muslim-majority regions of the former Soviet Union, has experienced an ‘Islamic revival’. Among its manifestations has been a rising number of veiled women. Many of them have joined the Tablighi Jamaat (the Society for Spreading Faith) which provides Islamic teaching (taalim) and organises weekly religious sessions (ijtimas). The chapter examines the ways in which the Tablighi Jamaat has been shaping Kyrgyz women's understanding of Islam and what it means to them to be Muslim. It is particularly interested in the implications of the Tablighi Jamaat's proselytizing among Kyrgyz women . . . for the wider multi-ethnic and poly-confessional Kyrgyzstani society. The study is based on observations, interviews with the veiled women and leaders of women jamaats (communities) More less
