The South Siberian inscriptions in Köktürk letters are composed of short texts describing who passed away, who separated from what, what they did not fulfill, what important works they did in their lives, and how old they died. The most common word in these inscriptions is the word ‘esiz’. This word has been interpreted differently by scientists, so all of the inscriptions have acquired different meanings. For example, T. Tekin and scientists who accept her view accept the word as an exclamation of pain. Therefore, according to them, the sentence Kök teŋride kün ay esiz ermiş, esizime adırıltım’ is interpreted as ‘Sky, sun and moon, unfortunately, enthronement, unfortunately, separated’. However, it is not possible to make a meaning and to determine the structure of the sentence from this translation. Moreover, the use of the word esiz by possessive and multiplicative suffixes weakens the possibility that this word can be used as an exclamation of pain. Therefore, scientists like B. Orinbay and R. Alimov thinks that the word esiz is a word which means a dear. In our work have been examined the lexical meaning, the use in texts, the morphological structure and the syntactic task of the word esiz. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the word esiz was not an exclamation of pain but a word with dear meanin
